India vs Australia 5th ODI prediction

India vs Australia 5th ODI preview

In the fear of another wash out game, India is playing the 5th ODI game against Australia in Barabati Stadium, Cuttack on Saturday. India has to win the remaining 3 matches to clinch the seven-match bilateral cricket series.

Australia is ahead in the series with 2-1 lead. After being thrashed by 4-0 in the test series earlier this year, Australia have comeback strongly and their batsman proved that they can comeback in the game irrespective of big totals scored by the opposition.

After India's unbelievable victory chasing down 360 runs by nine wickets, the home side is not able to defending 300 odd runs in the game. In the last game while defending 304 runs was severely let down by the young pacer Ishanth Sharma in the 48th Over at Mohali.

Mohammed Shammi who replaced Ishanth Sharma was outstanding with his career best figure of 3/42 at Ranchi. It was the first time that Aussies top order was completely troubled by a bowler in the series. Shammi's fine in-swing castled Shane Watson and Aron Finch. The performance of Shammi would certainly reserve a space in the squad for the series but other bowler's performance is what something to ponder about.

Left arm Seamer Jaydev Unadkat, replacement for Bhuvanesh Kumar, hardly troubled Australian batsman with his slow pace. But economical Bhuvaneshkumar should fit in the Indian squad for his early pace attack.

Vinay Kumar has been costly but the medium pacer, who denied George Bailey and Glenn Maxwell centuries in two crucial wickets in Ranchi, would definitely have something in his favour.

Three Indian batsmen have posted centuries including the Rohit Sharma, while Virat Kohli is in tremendous form with two half-centuries and a hundred to be the leading run getter with 229 runs at an average of 109.04.

India vs Australia 4th ODI prediction

India v Australia 4th ODI match preview

India is playing against Australia in the 4th ODI at Ranchi. The last game was very disappointing for Indians as Ishanth Sharma was smashed 30 runs in one over which lead Australia towards victory.

At one stage Australia needed 91 from the last 8.5 overs with four wickets remaining, thanks to James Falkner for his wonderful innings of 64 from just 24 balls.

It is very very surprising as Ishanth Sharma retained his position in this game! Mahender Singh Dhoni always trusts his players. This could be a great example of his leadership while some show gratitude to him and some criticize him to be stubborn. Whatever the case, it is certain that a bowler can't be judged on his ability by just an over for his entire career!

As Dhoni said to the media, India is playing with the same team that they played in the last game. For Ishanth Sharma this is the last chance for him to retain his presence in the squad.

On the other hand Australia is looking forward to clinch another victory in style. Their formula is simple. Score at 6 per over to reach 300 and pressurize the opposition batsman to score in the middle overs. They were able to score 300 plus in all of the last 3 matches which is a very good sign for Australians. Aaron Finch is in a tremendous form along with George Baily and Falkner.

All the batsman in Australian line up are hard hitters while Adam Voges play as a floater in the game. His calm batting in the last game of 76 runs from 91 balls helped Australia to build partnerships during the game.

4th ODI game is expected to be very exciting as India must win this game and Australia is very eager for 3-1 lead in the series.

Match Timings: 13:30 IST | 08:00 GMT

India:  Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni , Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar,  Vinay Kumar, Ishant Sharma/Jaydev Unadkat.

Cricket prediction | India vs Australia 3rd ODI

India vs Australia third ODI match preview

After a tremendous win against Australia India is looking forward to dominate Australia and World cricket by clinching another victory at Mohali. The host chased 359 runs in the last match, which was the second highest chase in the history of ODI cricket.

As for George Bailey and his team last game was a huge disappointment, even after scoring huge run on board, Australian bowlers couldn't able to defend their target of 359. This was not the first time Australian bowlers failed to defend a huge target. But in the past, they were completely failed to defend even after scoring 438, 346 and 340 runs against South Africa and New Zealand respectively.

On the batting front Australia is no longer a dummy side compared to India. Both teams have batsman who can take the score to any level at any moment of the game. Both teams are winning the game because it is the strength of batting rather than bowling, that is dominating in both sides. In-fact, when compared, both teams have so many loop holes in bowling department that in this game the team that strengthens their bowling ability will surely clinch the victory.

Aaron Finch and George Bailey are in a tremendous form and expected to continue further in this game. Experienced Shane Watson is the key for Australia as he knows the conditions of the Indian pitch than anyone else in the team.

For India, it would be again Shikar Dhawan and Rohith Sharma who can provide descent start and thereby Kohli, Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni can smash the ball to take India near victory. It is almost certain that if Australia get early breakthroughs then it would be very difficult for India to score in the way they scored in the last game. If Aussies succeed in taking the early wickets they can win this game in a damn easy way.

Teams:
Australia: George Bailey (C), Nathan Coulter-Nile, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, Moises Henriques, Mitchell Johnson, Clint McKay, Shane Watson, Xavier Doherty, Callum Ferguson, Brad Haddin, Phil Hughes, Glenn Maxwell, Adam Voges

India:  M S Dhoni (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Ishant Sharma, R Vinay Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat, Mohd Shami, Yuvraj Singh, Ambati Rayudu, R Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Amit Mishra

Cricket Prediction | India vs Australia 2nd ODI

India vs Australia 2nd ODI match preview.

After a big loss in the first match, India is looking forward to take a revenge against Australia at Jaipur. Gaining momentum is the key thing in this 7 match series as Australia have the advantage to take their momentum in this game.

For Australia this game is of immense opportunity to lose underdog title by clutching a victory in this game. For a team that is No. 1 in ICC ODI rankings after a string of impressive performances in Champions Trophy, Zimbabwe series and West Indies Tri series a single defeat can be considered as a fallback. And that fallback is driven by Australia!

India need to lift their performances in the 50 over format. Even though it seems they are struggling to face short pitch spells by Australian bowlers it is pretty sure that India have faced this type of spells over West Indies, England and Zimbabwe. So no doubt India would come with a hardcore mindset in this game.

Key players for Australia:

  • Brad Haddin
  • George Bailey(c)
  • Shane Watson
  • Nathan Coulter-Nile
Key Players for India:
  • MS Dhoni(w/c)
  • Yuvraj Singh
  • Shikhar Dhawan
  • Ravindra Jadeja
The wicket at The wicket at the Sawai Man Singh stadium has helped fast bowlers in the recent World T20 league. The pitch for the second game is expected to be hard with a tinge of grass. The seamers will get help but a lot of runs is expected in the powerplays and in the early stages of the game.

The Australian Captain Brad Haddin reckons it would be a high scoring game and the conditions will suit his bowlers. Shane Watson and James Falkner have played a lot of games recently in this pitch and they were telling that this pitch is a heaven for batsman like himself and other batsman in his team.

Teams:
India: Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni(w/c), Yuvraj Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Ambati Rayudu, Jaydev Unadkat, Vinay Kumar, Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami.

Cricket Prediction | India v Australia 1st ODI

India v Australia first ODI match preview

India is playing against Australia on 13th October 2013 at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium, Pune. The two sides will play 7 ODI matches with a final on 2nd November 2013.

After a big lose in the past T20 match, Aussies have to win this game to gain momentum over India. This series has got a big hype as both teams are ranked 1 and 2 in the ODI rankings. Australia has a great opportunity to retain number one spot, but in order to do that they has to win at-least 6 matches! Well, who knows what happens in the world of cricket?

On the other hand, India have just lost 5 games out of  ODI's in this year and unbeaten since winning Champions Trophy. They have the world's best middle order players who can turn the whole scenario of the game irrespective of losing wickets in the early stages.

Australia is playing without their main key players Michael Clarke who is injured and coach Darren Lehmann who held himself back due to Ashes preparations.

For India this game is simply to exert further dominance in One Day Internationals and shine their crown in number one spot. The key player for India would be as usual Shikar Dhawan and Suresh Raina. With the presence of Skipper Mahender Singh Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja, middle order is very strong and no doubt they will give a hardcore challenge to Australia.

Squad:
Australia: Shane Watson, Aaron Finch, George Bailey,  Brad Haddin (wk), Glenn Maxwell,  James Faulkner, Clint McKay, Phillip Hughes, Callum Ferguson, Moises Henriques, Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Xavier Doherty.

India:MS Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar,  Vinay Kumar,  Ambati Rayudu,  Jaydev Unadkat, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, R Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami.

Cricket Prediction | India vs Australia T20 prediction

India vs Australia T20 game at Rajkot - Preview

The game will be played on 7:30 PM IST at Rajkot. All eyes will be on Yuvraj Singh as he made a significant comeback against West Indies A. The match is expected to set a exciting tone as the young Indian players are playing against inexperienced Australian Side.

The host - played recently in Champions League T20 have momentum with them where as Australians had to start fresh in Indian conditions. Comparing the strengths Australia is not an average side as it seems. In-fact if they played with their potential, chances are more in winning the game and has the full capability to strike Indian players at will.

However, absence of Michael Clarke is a big blow for Australia and George Baily - another young talented cricketer is expected to fill the gap as a skipper.

The two teams have faced off in seven previous T20 games, with Australia holding a slightly better record at 4-3. India last played a T20 game against Pakistan at Ahmedabad in December. After a two-month break from international cricket, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will look to restart his stint at the helm with a win. He had warmed up nicely with a good outing for Chennai Super Kings in the Champions League T20.

However, the focus will be primarily on Yuvraj Singh, who would be eager to prove a point after being recalled to the squad following a string of good scores for India A against the Windies A and a solid display for India Blue in the Challenger Series. The 31-year old had also scored a quick 52 runs off 35 balls against the West Indies A in a T20 game in Bangalore. Apart from his explosive batting Yuvraj Sing is also expected to play a huge role spin bowling. When needed Yuvraj Sing is the best bowler for Dhoni to call up on to break any partnership.

Besides, two other players left arm pace bowler Jaydev Unadkat and left arm spin bowler and allrounder Ravindra Jadeja would also be keen to mark something in-front of the crowd.

Opening is very strong with the presence of Shikar Dhawan who is in a tremendous form and Winning captain of CLT20 2013 Rohith Sharma. while left-handed Suresh Raina has also been in good touch where he scored 221 runs for CSK in the tournament. Then there is the strong middle-order consisting of Virat Kohli, Yuvraj and Dhoni.

Australia, on the other hand, would be equally eager to start their campaign on a winning note.

The visitors, who were whitewashed 0-4 by the hosts in the Test series earlier this year, have been going through some testing times and is a team in transition, struggling to maintain consistency.

"The inexperience is one of our learning curves at the moment. We have to get past that. It is probably our weakness, however, it is also our strength. Youthful exuberance often can be very good when it comes to the final crunches," coach Steve Rixon said ahead of the series."

Hard Hitter Aaron Finch who holds the world record for fastest century and the left-handed Phillip Hughes, who is yet to play in a T20 International, would have to provide a solid start. Australia have also strengthened their squad by drafting 21 year old New South Wales opener Nic Maddinson.

Their main players would be Shane Watson, James Faulkner, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Glenn Maxwell who all played Champions League T20 finals. Senior player Shane Watson is expected to play an important role in the game with his skills in both bat and bowl.

The bowling attack looks good with Mitchell Johnson, Coulter-Nile, Moises Henriques, Clint McKay shouldering the responsibility.

Both Coulter-Nile and Henriques can make useful contributions with the bat lower down the order.

Teams:
Australia: George Bailey (Captain), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Xavier Doherty, James Faulkner, Nic Maddinson, Glenn Maxwell, Clint McKay, Adam Voges, Shane Watson, Aaron Finch, Brad Haddin, Moises Henriques, Mitchell Johnson.

India: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ranganath Vinay Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Jaydev Unadkat, Amit Mishra, Ambati Rayudu, Yuvraj Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma.
