RCB vs KXIP - 31st match of the IPL 7 preview
Royal Challengers Bangalore are playing against the giant team KXIP on 9th May 2014 at Bangalore. Having home advantage for RCB, Kohli and men are desperately looking forward to beat KXIP and thereby proving their failed dominance back in this season. The current form and confidence of the KXIP is nowhere compared with the RCB's performances and very far ahead with only one loss against Mumbai Indians. Where as Bangalore have a mix of both wins and losses proving they are very inconsistent in this season.
The venue is said to be a heaven for batsman, we could witness thunder storm from both teams as each team have their guns who can turn the match around at any moment of the game. Having said that, if whether won't ruin the game it is expected to be a great clash between the two.
For this game, I will go with the likes of RCB. Bangalore is pretty hunger compared to the performances of KXIP. If the so called star players click in this very game then it would be very difficult for KXIP to challenge RCB like they have made absolute dominance over Chennai.
Strengths and weakness
Royal Challengers Bangalore strength: Chris Gayle has comeback decently and the bowlers have shown a better performance more than they were expected. Adding to that, if RCB took another seam bowler who are sitting in the dug out, they can shuffle the bowling attack to break partnerships in the middle. For me it would be wise to bring Ravi Rampaul or Morkel instead of Rassow.
Weakness: It is pretty easy to determine the weakness of RCB. The inconsistent performance by the batsman have paid the price. Also the bad form of over-hyped Yuvraj Singh and Albie Morkel.
KXIP Strength: Only two words can say everything, Maxwell and Miller. This partnership will be brutal if it stays for 30 minutes. Another strength would be the form of Virender Sehwag. By giving the license to Sehwag and making Pujara as the watchman, George Baily has made an extreme strategy to build the momentum early in the game. As long as these two men stay at the crease, the opposition has no chance of hoping a win in the game.
