India vs Australia 4th ODI abandoned due to rain

By on 14:13

Due to the heavy rain at Ranchi, the game between Australia and India was abandoned after just 4.1 overs of the Indian Innings. India were chasing 296 runs without losing any wickets. There was a little drizzle at the start of the play but no one has expected a heavy rain. As the game progressed rain become a villein for the fans at Ranchi.

Earlier in the innings, Australia was put into bat by Indians. Australia were pushed back by Mohammed Shammi's magical spells that fetched India 3 wickets. Mohammed Shammi who replaced Ishanth Sharma bowled opening spells for in form Phil Huges(11), Shane Watson(14) and dangerous Aaron Finch(5). Australia were pushed back by him by losing 3 wickets for just 32 runs on board.

Adam Voges (7) fell into the trap of Shammi in the 15th over, leaving the side to panic.

But things changed dramatically by the 153 run partnership between Glenn Maxwell and George Baily in just 22.4 overs took Australia to score a challenging target. After that, Indian bowlers lose their intensity, and gave heavy runs in the slog overs, Vinay Kumar was pretty descent with his bowling (2/52) while other bowlers played their part.

In return India's response was great, Shikar Dhawan's 3 back to back boundaries made India the favorites, while the drizzle started to spoil the game. Match was being called off after a thorough inspection, moving the series to 2-1 in Australian favor.
