Even though it seems Otago are on the safer side, they aren't! Royals are already through to the semi finals, where as Otago with their 10 points had to win this game. They will have to await the outcome of the match between Mumbai Indians and Perth Scorchers if they lose today's game.
Similar to Otago who aren't defeated in this tournament, RR are also undefeated in their home ground Jaipur. RR have won their last 11 matches in home. So this could be a high voltage game and really hard to predict the winner under statistics.
Rajasthan Royals are very strong in terms of team-play rather than Individual performances. Apart from Shane Watson you will not see any class T20 player in the team yet all the players in RR are adoptable! That is the main reason why RR are very hard to defeat. Captain Rahul Dravid is inspirational to RR. Young Stuart Binny and Sanju Samson are very impressive with batting. You can see a bunch of allrounders in RR than any other teams in the whole tournament. When it comes to bowling Watson, Cooper, Stuart Binny and not to forget the surprise package Praveen Tambi can all make the opposition batsman life harder. Overall RR are perfectly molded to play T20 format and are ready for the battle against Otago.
Otago Volts are very different looking side compared to RR. Rather than team, Otago are majorly dependent upon individuals who have the ability to take the game away from the opposition. Brendon McCullum, Hamish Rutherford are very big hard hitters in T20 format. Not to forget the allrounder Jimmy Neesham who played a vital role in the last match between Perth Scorchers.
The result of this match will determine the future of the two teams. The winner of this match will feature in the first semi final at home on October 4. If Rajasthan Royals lose this match, they will feature in the second semi-final scheduled to be played at Delhi on October 5. If Otago Volts lose this match, they will hope the Perth Scorchers can defeat the Mumbai Indians, so they can finish second, and hence play the second semi-final at Delhi.
