Cricket News | Du Plessis fined for ball Tampering

South Africa batsman Du plessis has been fined 50 percent of his match fee for ball tampering in the 2nd test match against Pakistan. Du Plessis was caught in the camera where he was rubbing the ball against the zip on his packet in the third day of the match.
The game is playing in Dubai, umpires Rod Tucker and Ian Gould penalized South Africa five runs and changed the ball.

Du plessis found guilty for tampering the ball and according to article 2.2.9 of the ICC rules which realtes to "changing the condition of the ball in breach of Law 42.3 of the Laws of Cricket, as modified by ICC Standard Test Match, ODI and Twenty20 International Match Playing Conditions clause 42.1".

Mr. Boon stated after discussions with Du Plessis, the penalty of 50 percent of his match fee is appropriate considering the circumstances as he attempted to unfairly manipulate the condition of the ball. 

South Africa are closing in on victory in the second test match with Pakistan starting the fourth day 286 runs behind South Africa's 517 runs with just six wickets remaining. Pakistan currently lead the series by 1-0
